Vegan For A Week. DAY 4

"I walk by this all the time and never knew it was here!" - Jeremy Bonsol (about The Chicago Diner)

I went to the Chicago Diner tonight in Lakeview and man was it GLORIOUS! Not only was the waitress amazingly crunchy (aka granola), she provided me with precious knowledge about cheeze, zevia, and seitan. I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheezeburger with a side of kale salad (of course). All vegan. All effin' amazing. And for those of you thinking that vegetables don't fill you up... I ate this stuff about 4 hours ago and I'm still completely satiated (that means "full" and "satisfied" just FYI).

Brian had the Whopping Burger. But with the dairy cheese. Made from cows. NOT vegan. Close though, B-Dawg. Close. He says "it all had a very unique taste to it, ya know?" Yeah dude. It's vegetables. Meat-substitute. It's gonna be unique.

We washed this vegan craziness down with Zevia. Have you heard of this stuff? It's organic soda. Zero calories. And it tastes just like regular soda. I'm serious!

For dessert we just HAD to have the chocolate cake glazed with peanut butter. W. T. F. It was amazing. Who knew vegetables could taste this GOOD!?

I will definitely be coming back here for more. Probably monthly. Hell... probably weekly. So if you're ever at the 7/11 on Halsted, put down the machine-powered nacho cheese and bag of doritos, turn around and head to The Chicago Diner. You will NOT be disappointed. Enjoy!
